LIFE WITHOUT A VISION IS USELESS
Imagine waking up in morning, shower, dress up and go to
school, after you go partying and finally fall asleep and the following day you
repeat the same routine. No plans, no purpose, no nothing you are just like a
map without a compass it’s like walking with no a direction, all your life you
are just wondering around like a lost sheep. That’s what it means to live a life without a vision.
Let me ask you, why are you here at campus or why are you
living, what is your vision. The great
Helen Keller once said,” the only thing worse than being blind is having sight
but no vision.” You have all the tools, education and all resources needed but
if you don’t know where you are going, none of it matters.
University can be so stressful and demanding with very many
assignments and projects to finish before the deadline, Steve jobs once said,” if you are working on something exciting that
you really care about, you don’t have to
be pushed. The vision pulls you.” Even if it’s tiring and you feel like
quitting, guess what, the vision pulls you forward. No giving up easily.
Importance of having
a vision
Vision gives direction. This means walking with a purpose,
it’s not about getting a first class, it’s about understanding who you want to
become, what do you want to contribute and what legacy do want to leave behind.
Vision fuels motivation. Life is full of ups and downs,
there are always challenges and disappointments but when you have a vision, you’re
motivated to keep pushing harder and harder to reach that goal no matter the
circumstances because it’s worth it.
When you have a vision, you start making better decisions,
bounce back faster from failure and you also stop comparing yourself with
others because you know where you are going.
As university students, this is a chance for you to build
your vision because you are surrounded by knowledge, opportunities and people
who can help you shape your future. You don’t need to have answers to all your
questions instead just ask yourself, what you can do best, what you enjoy doing. That can be a starting point.
Without a vision, you’re wasting four years waiting instead
of four years of becoming. It’s not too late to start now, build a vision worth
chasing and then chase it everything you’ve got.
