Sports are playing big role in our culture globally, with various entertainment attracting audiences worldwide. there are very many kinds of sports in the world today, among others include football with over 3.5 billion fans in the world and the most widely followed sports in the world, cricket with over 2.5 billion fans globally, hockey, tennis among others. though it has been like a form of entertainment, sport has played bigger role in the community ranging from social, political and economic roles.

socially, sports play a significant role which goes beyond entertainment in the following ways: sports help in creating unity among different people. Sport has the power to unite people from different cultures, classes, and geographical location. This helps to create a sense of unity among people for example football has a been used to fight against racism through the slogan "black lives matters".

sport also help in nation building and global representation. many countries have used sports to show their capability and also sell their culture to the outside world. this is done by hosting big sports events like Olympics and FIFA world cup which gather people from different continents and cultures. countries like Russia, Brazil, South Africa have used sports to assert their presence and influence.

sports also help in socialisation and education. sports have been a tool in many schools and community in teaching social values like teamwork, discipline and respect for others. this is due to the rules that are involve in sports and the penalties in it. it is also use in promotion of skills development and physical education in many schools and communities.

sports also play a significant role in the economy; it helps to create job and employment opportunity. it has supported very many people by employing both directly and indirectly like the football players are paid which reduce on the level unemployment. indirectly, it benefits helps by making a healthier population through sports participation which on the cost of health and increase production.

it also promotes investment and infrastructure development. by the country hosting major sports events, it attracts investment in very many sectors like recreation centres and hotels stimulating the local economy. building sports infrastructure like stadium, arenas can contribute to community development informs of roads.

politically, sport promotes diplomacy and international relations. sport is a very good tool in fostering relation and cooperation like the ping-pong diplomacy between the US and China. it also helps to end controversy and criticism. politics can intersect with athletics which can embroiled in controversy and criticism.

above all, sports can be used as a tool to preach the word of God. by organising sports events like football, cricket, many people have used sports to preach the good news of Christ. this is due to the power of unity that sports have portraying the character of godliness.

overall, sports can be a powerful tool for promoting social, political, and economic benefits to local people, countries, and the world at large.
