ZELENSKY CANCELLED SOUTH AFRICA VISIT AFTER RUSSIA ATTACK ON KYIV.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine cancelled his part of visit to South Africa after Russia missile and drone attack on Kyiv over the night. The reports have reported that nine people died and eighty (80) were left injured including children as the local official said.

Zelensky on his X media wrote and said he would return immediately after having a meeting with Cyril Ramaphosa for some diplomatic efforts. He added on saying that rescue operations are going on about the attack Russia made to his country.

DR CONGO AND M23 REBELS REACH CEASEFIRE DEAL IN QATAR

According to reports, it has reported that DRC and Rwandan backed M23 rebels have agreed to halt fighting in the east of the country until peace talks mediated by Qatar to reach their conclusion. Reports show that since the rebels stepped in eastern DRC, 7,000people have been killed since January.

Current reports shows that last month, Congolese president Felix Tshisekedi and his Rwanda counterpart Paul Kagame reaffirmed their commitment to unconditional ceasefire in surprise meeting in Doha, Qatar. DRC blames Rwanda for supporting M23 by giving them troops used to kill people and also DRC blames them for stealing their minerals which Rwanda denies.

Finally, news from BBC shows that both M23 and government reached to the agreement to give peace talks a chance. The statement was released on Wednesday, and it was read on Congolese national Tv and also posted on X by M23 spokesperson Lawrence Kanyuka.
