HOW TO GET OVER TRAUMAS (PART1)
Trauma: this is a deeply distressing and disturbing experience that leaves you or one scared for the rest of their lives unless they are treated adequately for example the long-lasting effect can be Emotional, Mental, Physical, and spiritual.
This often disrupts a person's sense of safety, assurance, and security on the other hand it leads to feelings of fear, helplessness, and despair. the aftermath of this is usually different from person to person but in the end, it's always deep-seated wounds that need healing.
In our counselling section today, we are going to talk about traumas and how to overcome them I started by giving you a definition of trauma so that we may know exactly what we are dealing with and talking about and the impact it has on your life.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF TRAUMAS
PHYSICAL TRAUMA: this usually includes injuries from accidents, physical abuse, and medical errors that leave people in shock and cause permanent psychological scars.
EMOTIONAL TRAUMA: this often stems from bullying, lack of affection, verbal abuse, stalking, and many more. this leads to victims developing low self-esteem, trust issues, paranoia, and overall emotional instability.
SEXUAL AND SPIRITUAL ABUSE: this devastating form of trauma stems from the violations of one's physical body and breaks the spirit in the process. The effects of this are usually hard to deal with leading to long-lasting scars and affecting the present and future relationships of the victims.
NEGLECT & MENTAL: This form of trauma is often a psychological wound formed by the absence of necessary emotional support, validation, and care during childhood or other crucial parts of one's life.
There is a BIBLICAL CONTEXT: the bile acknowledges the reality of trauma and suffering, offering a pathway to healing and there is no better counsel than the Holy Spirit through the word of God, prayer, and intentional peoples He positions around you. psalms 147:3 says, " HE HEALS THE BROKEN HEARTED AND BINDS UP THEIR WOUNDS".
We see countless examples of traumatized people in the Bible like Joseph who was sold, hated, and betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. his story surely shows us that even in the face of great suffering God can bring about restoration, forgiveness, and healing. Samson was betrayed by the woman he loved Delilah but, in the end, God still used him and his situation to defeat his enemies and for his Glory, it shows that even at our lowest as long as we seek the Lord's face and counsel, he still uses us for his Glory, so don't despair.
IMPACTS AND EFFECTS OF TRAUMAS
traumas often extend to affecting people mentally, manifesting anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). seeking help from Christian counsellors and professionals who integrate faith into their practice can provide the best tools for healing and managing these conditions. Philippians: 4:6-7 says "DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERY SITUATION, IN PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD. AND PEACE OF GOD WHICH TRASCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS."
There are various ways one can heal from traumas I will not detail them for you in this post but in the next one instead (part B of this)
